Dish drainer as home command center

I just found this adorable organzing/re-use idea on the BGH website and had to share. So clever!

Adorable DIY Lego table

I love a creative DIY project and just found this homemade Lego table tutorial online. I don't have any kids of my own yet but my godchildren just might be getting this for Easter. So simple, low cost, and hours of fun!

I'm also thinking of ways to add a container to the underside of the table to store the Legos in place when they're not being used. Maybe screw a drawer underneath or a slide out basket? Hmmm...a trip to IKEA might be in order for this weekend!

Grocery-list shortcut

One of the first principles of organizing is to work with your natural tendencies, not against them. Well my natural tendencies when it comes to a grocery list is writing it on a whiteboard that's on the front of my freezer. Problem: I'm not going to schlep the whiteboard to the store!

I tried using my ListMaker app on the iPhone but that requires re-entering my list into my phone. Doesn't tend to happen very much!

But today I had a realization based on a new trend I see at work...using the iPhone camera to take a picture of the notes on a whiteboard you want to save. I can take a picture of the list on my whiteboard with one click and have it in my phone at the store with no extra typing required.

Genius!!

This is definitely going to be my new approach for list transference in the future. Such a time saver!

Inspirational Quotes

I'm a big fan of inspirational quotes and have amassed quite a collection myself. Web surfing recently led me to another collection on the Your Life Your Way blog. Many of my favorite quotes are on there but one in particular has been relevant to my life lately:

"Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections." - Unknown

I also found a great quote on this blog with a particularly pretty printable to go with it. The quote is:

"Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows. It empties today of it's strength."
- Corrie Ten Boom
